Itinerary: Lima – Paracas – Nasca – Arequipa – Colca Canyon – Lake Titicaca – Cusco – Sacred Valley of the Incas – Machu Picchu – Lima.

Trekking in the Colca Canyon, rafting down the Chili River, riding in a dune buggy across the coastal desert, biking through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, kayaking on Lake Titicaca… and let’s not forget testing your courage with the “Via ferrata” on the cliffs of Ollantaytambo! This tour combines the unmissable sights of Peru with sporty excursions… the best way to discover this beautiful country.

What’s the plan?

Day 1: LIMA

Upon your arrival in Lima, airport transfer to the Britania hotel. Night at the hotel.

Day 2: LIMA - PARACAS
Free morning in Lima. Possibility to do a guided city tour.

Around noon, departure for Paracas in a first-class bus. Arrival in this little Pacific seaside resort in the late afternoon. Hotel transfer and night at the “Posada del Emancipador” hotel.

Day 3: PARACAS - NASCA
In the morning, excursion to the Ballestas islands, a natural reserve where you will be able to observe the Peruvian marine wildlife: sealions, cormorants, pelicans and even penguins!

Back on firm ground, you will take a first-class bus to Nasca. Arrival in Nasca in the afternoon, and night at the Casa Andina Classic hotel, a very pleasant establishment with a swimming pool. Night at the hotel.

Optional: Taking a flight over the Nasca lines.

Day 4: NASCA - AREQUIPA
Morning departure through the Nasca desert in a specially adapted dune buggy. You will visit the Cahuachi archeological site in the middle of the desert, and will be able to try out sandboarding in the vast sand dunes. Return to the hotel then transfer to the bus terminal for your early-afternoon trip to Arequipa in a first-class bus.

Arrival in Arequipa at night, and transfer to the Casa Andina Classic hotel.

Day 5: AREQUIPA
Option 1: Mountain-bike excursion in the morning, through the villages of Yumina and Sabandia and their pre-Hispanic agricultural terraces, which are still farmed to this day.

You will get to know the locals’ rural life in this part of the green countryside at the foot of the Misti volcano. Free afternoon and night at the hotel.

Option 2: Rafting: Around 8am, pick-up from the hotel by minibus and departure up to the Chili River for 2 hours of rafting through some stunning scenery. Some of the bumpier parts of the river will add some excitement to the ride!

Return to the hotel around noon, followed by a free afternoon in Arequipa.

Day 6: AREQUIPA - COLCA CANYON TREK
Early-morning departure to the Colca Canyon and lunch in the village of Cabanaconde. You will start your trek by hiking down into the Canyon, through some steep paths which will take you down to the banks of the river, 1000 meters below.

Dinner and night at the refuge (basic comfort) in the village of San Juan.

Day 7: COLCA CANYON TREK
In the morning, your “Peru Adventure” tour will continue on the north bank of the Colca river where you will stop by the villages of Malata and Cosñirhua, then trek back down to the Colca river for lunch at the Oasis. You will be able to rest there, and take a dip in the swimming pool before trekking back up to Cabanaconde in the afternoon (1000 meters’ climb).

Dinner and night at the hotel (basic hotel, private bathroom and hot water).

Day 8: COLCA CANYON TREK - AREQUIPA
After an early breakfast, you will set off to the Condor Cross viewpoint, which offers great views across the hiking trail you’ll have just completed. You’ll also be able to enjoy stunning views across the Canyon (over 1000 meters deep), and of the flight of the condors, which nest in the cliffs and take flight every morning. After your last lunch in Chivay, you will leave the Colca and come back to Arequipa at the end of the day.

Day 9: AREQUIPA - PUNO
Your trip will continue with a journey to Puno, by crossing the Andean plateau where you will be able to see many llamas and alpacas. Arrival in Puno in the early afternoon, a city located on the banks of Lake Titicaca. Transfer to the Hacienda Plaza hotel and free end of afternoon.

Night at the hotel.

Optional : visit of the Sillustani archeological site and its « chullpas », or pre-Hispanic funeral towers which overlook the Umayo lagoon.

Day 10: LAKE TITICACA: TREKKING ACROSS THE SOCCA PENINSULA AND KAYAKING TO THE UROS ISLANDS
Day 10 will be spent exploring Lake Titicaca, one of the highest lakes in the world. You will set off in the morning to the Socca peninsula where you will discover the splendid landscapes around the Lake, and the rural Aymara communities who live there, away from the traditional tourist trails.

You will hike for about 2 hours with some extraordinary views across the Lake, which is split between Peru and Bolivia. Return to Puno around noon.

In the afternoon, you will set off on a kayak across Lake Titicaca. You will kayak through the reeds until you reach the Uros floating islands. After visiting the islands, return to Puno in the late afternoon.

Day 11: PUNO - CUSCO
In the morning, departure by first-class bus to Cusco. After a 6-hour drive through the Andean plateau and the valley of Vilcanota, you will arrive in Cusco, the capital of the Inca Empire. Transfer to the San Agustin Internacional hotel, located in the historical center of the city.

Free end of afternoon and night at the hotel.

Day 12: CUSCO
Free morning to enjoy the charm of Cusco, undoubtedly the most beautiful city in Peru. In the afternoon you will visit “ChocoMuseo”, the cocoa museum located in the heart of the city, where you will take part in a workshop to make your own chocolate from the region’s finest cocoa.

Night at the hotel.

Day 13: CUSCO : SACRED VALLEY (VIA FERRATA)
In the morning you will be driven over to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, between the villages of Urubamba and Ollantaytambo. Here you will truly test your courage by trying “Via ferrata”, one of the highlights of this Peruvian tour. Your guide will supply the equipment as well as the safety instructions, before you set off climbing across a 300-meter rock face, across the “via ferrata”. After a packed lunch at the top, you will abseil down part of the rock face.

Return to Cusco in the late afternoon. Night at the hotel.

Day 14: CUSCO – OLLANTAYTAMBO : SACRED VALLEY ON A MOUNTAINBIKE
Morning departure to Cruzpata, where you will meet your guide for the day. Your tour will continue by mountain bike, through little paths crossing the Maras plateau, which dominates the Sacred Valley, up to the Inca circuses of Moray.

You will then cross the village of Maras until you reach the salt mines, which have been naturally harvested since pre-Hispanic times, and still are to this day. In the afternoon, your tour will continue through the Sacred Valley, over to the village of Ollantaytambo, which is overlooked by its Inca fortress (admission not included). Free end of afternoon and night at the Samanapaq hotel.

Day 15: OLLANTAYTAMBO - MACHU PICCHU - CUSCO
The whole tour has been a crescendo, and we’re finishing with the best, the climax of any tour to Peru: visiting Machu Picchu. You will set off early in the morning on a train to Aguas Calientes, then from there take a bus which will take you up to the site. You will have several free hours to explore the most famous of all Inca cities, and to be spellbound by your stunning surroundings. Return by train in the afternoon, and transfer to the San Agustin Internacional hotel in Cusco.

Day 16: CUSCO - LIMA - RETURN

Transfer to Cusco airport, flight to Lima. End of our services and of your Peru Adventure tour. Connection with your international flight.
